Poverty Alleviation of National Tourism Administration of P. R. C

　　【Overview】In 2011, National Tourism Administration of P.R.C implemented the deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on poverty alleviation and development and continued to increase efforts on anti-poverty work. While conducting the fixed-point poverty alleviation and poverty reduction in tourism in key regions, National Tourism Administration actively supported the development of tourism industry in central and western poor areas and the Tibetan areas of Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan and Gansu through financial aid, planning preparation, product enhancement, education and training, and achieved positive results in the poverty reduction by tourism.

　　【Fixed-point poverty alleviation】 In 2011, National Tourism Administration issued 1 million Yuan of project funds for the development of tourism industry in Jiangkou County, the poor county involved in its fixed-point poverty alleviation, mainly supporting the development of rural tourism.

　　【Poverty alleviation in key regions】 In 2011, National Tourism Administration allocated 2.7 million Yuan of local project funds for the tourism industry of Bijie, supported the construction of three model villages with ethnic minority characteristics, namely Gali Village in Mazha Town of Weining Yi, Hui and Miao Autonomous County, Huawu Village of Xingren in Qianxi County and Tianxing Village in Shabao Town of Nayong County, as well as the campsite for self-driving tour in Yishan Ancient Village with a hundred-li of cuckoo.

　　【Industrial poverty alleviation】 In 2011, National Tourism Administration allocated a total of more than 200 million Yuan of tourism development funds as local project funds for the central and western poor areas to improve the tourism infrastructure and public facilities, started the preparation of planning for the development of tourism industry in Wuling Mountain, Taihang Mountain, Dabie Mountain and Qinling areas, and supported the central and western poor areas to set up more than 70 4A and 5A scenic spots.

　　【education and training】 In August 2011, National Tourism Administration held the training course for directors of tourism authorities in the central and western regions and a total of 60 tourist administration managers of 12 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Chongqing, Guizhou, Guangxi, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia attended the event. It also held two seminars on the development of tourist economy in the Tibetan areas of Qinghai, Gansu, Yunnan and Sichuan for a total of 120 tourist administration managers; implemented the project of lectures by well-known tutors and sent outstanding tour conductors to give lectures for the students of tourism colleges and frontier tourist guides in the poor areas of Chongqing, Shanxi, Guizhou, Xinjiang, Ningxia and other central and western regions.
