Poverty Alleviation of International Organizations in China

　　Bayer –China Rural Development Program

　　In 2011, the Foreign Capital Project Management Center of LGOP and Bayer (China) Co., Ltd jointly launched the "Bayer –China Rural Development Program". This program was designed to explore effective modes for enterprises - government - NGO tripartite cooperation and help poor rural areas to achieve sustainable development, covering more than 5,000 poverty-stricken people from about 1200 rural households of four administrative villages in Wanzhou District, Chongqing. The project will use community self-development model to improve the quality of life of the poor farmers in the project area, increase farmers' income, ensure the participation of the poorest, protect the environment of rural communities and achieve sustainable development of the project area. The project contents include the improvement of infrastructure, agricultural skills training, enhancement of public awareness and health status and the improvement of teaching conditions of kindergartens and elementary schools.

　　Cargill water-saving irrigation project

　　In 2011, the Foreign Capital Project Management Center of LGOP and Cargill Investments (China) Co., Ltd successively implemented three water-saving farmland irrigation projects in Wanji Village of Shibanqiao Town, Ningling County, Henan Province and Jiamu Town of Wensu County in Akesu, Xinjiang to speed up the construction of small-scale farmland and water conservancy projects, further improve agricultural productivity, promote the production development of poverty-stricken areas and increase farmers' income.
